I, [YOUR NAME], support the outlined bullying prevention and child safety language below, derived from 2026 Bills HB-1107 and HB-1093, outlined below. I am strongly urging you to hear these bills and support them. While these bills were not heard in the house, we are seeking to ensure this language moves this session, regardless of the final bill vehicle.
I am strongly urging you to provide a clear Senate pathway forward using this language that creates a never before seen Bullying and Neglect Administrative Oversight Committee in all Indiana Schools and adds a State Ombudsman as a resource and support. We seek to change the definition of Bullying to close loopholes in reporting and documenting of Bullying and Assault incidents. These two bills together will be giant leaps forward in protecting Children in our schools. Most mass-violence incidents in our schools could have been prevented, if reports and warning signs were taken seriously and not swept under the rug by administrators. These two bills aim to add oversight in all things related to Safety and Neglect in our schools. Every day, we hear tragic story after tragic story of teen and pre-teen Children taking their own lives due to the relentless torment of bullying that was ignored by administrators. And every day, we hear tragic story after tragic story of a student or former student committing mass-violence incidents due to ignored reports and ignored warning signs, and years of ignored bullying problems.
